This website is designed to model some of the ideas and practices I have learned in ELED 323 and show how I will incorporate these practices into my future classroom.
I will demonstrate what I have learned about teaching literacy through five "essentials" of language arts curriculum.
Theoretical Principles
In this section you will find the theoretical principles of literacy learning I plan to use as a guide for my fourth grade class. I will also describe the level of development I expect my class to have in order to plan for instruction and set realistic learning goals.
This section will include some of the literature materials, programs and technologies I plan to implement into the instruction for my future literate classroom. I will also include some of the materials I will need for the strategies of instruction.
In this section I will describe and explain some of the major teaching strategies I plan to use in my classroom on a daily basis in order to teach literacy. The section will include some effective strategies for whole group, small group and individual instruction.
This section will show how I plan to differentiate within my classroom in order to meet the needs of all my students. I will also include a plan for how I will help my students respect and appreciate cultural differences.
This section includes a detailed description of my future room organization. In this section you will find how I plan to incorporate literacy activities, a map of my classroom, and a class schedule.
